Charles most challenging and notable achievement was developing strategy and execution for an OREO large sales liquidation strategy. The client an asset-backed lender had foreclosed on 125 acres of property in Prineville Oregon, which in 2010, had unemployment at 22% due to the evaporation of the housing industry. The Eighteen-month project worked with all levels of State government to local stakeholders, and Business Oregon to create a local enterprise tax-free zone that ultimately lured Facebook’s first data center to Prineville based on tax abatement and low power costs. The almost billion dollars of economic activity due to Facebook data center facility quickly changed what was otherwise a very bleak outlook for the economy of Prineville. To date this still represents the largest single private investment in State of Oregon.
