Charles Bauman, MBA (fin)
Principal, AEC Strategy & Operations

Charles Bauman is a Principal at CLSG Consulting, bringing over two decades of experience across real estate development, construction, and strategic advisory within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector. He operates at the intersection of strategy and execution, serving as a hybrid strategy and operations leader with experience in COO-level roles overseeing complex projects, teams, and capital deployment. Charles has consulted on approximately $1.5 billion in real estate development and has played a key role in structuring and executing over $150 million in capital raises across commercial real estate, infrastructure, and emerging ventures.

His experience spans the full development lifecycle, including site selection, feasibility analysis, financial modeling, entitlement strategy, design coordination, and construction execution. In both consulting and operational leadership capacities, Charles has directed cross-functional teams, aligned stakeholders, and implemented systems that drive performance, accountability, and scalability. He also leads clients in the practical adoption of AI-enabled tools and workflows, embedding data-driven decision-making into project delivery, program management, and operational systems to enhance alignment, speed, and performance. He has worked closely with developers, general contractors, engineers, and institutional partners to deliver projects that balance financial returns with operational excellence. Notably, he led the site selection and development strategy for Facebook’s first data center in Prineville, Oregon—an initiative that catalyzed over $1 billion in regional economic development during a period of significant economic distress.

In addition to his AEC leadership, Charles has advised more than 30 startups and growth-stage companies, applying an operator’s mindset to strategic planning, execution, and scaling. His leadership experience ranges from program management to executive oversight, where he has consistently bridged the gap between vision and delivery—ensuring that strategy is effectively translated into results.

Charles holds undergraduate degrees in business and engineering, an MBA in Finance from Hamline Business School, and a graduate certificate in healthcare from Cornell University. His multidisciplinary background, combined with deep AEC and operational expertise, positions him as a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex development, construction, and investment decisions.
