One of his most significant accomplishments was locating Facebook’s first data center in Prineville, Oregon, contributing half a billion dollars of economic development to a community during the state’s highest unemployment rate back in 2010.

Bruce Miles – Senior Executive Consultant

Izzy Maggay, PE – Professional Engineer, Project Manager

Izzy Maggay, PE, is CLSG Consulting’s in-house industrial engineering expert consultant. With a wealth of experience spanning multiple industries and a strong background in food processing, utility systems, and regulatory compliance, Izzy brings a unique blend of technical knowledge and leadership skills to his consulting practice.

 

Izzy began his career with 12 years as a U.S. Naval Officer, participating in various billets, including the largest helicopter evacuation in U.S. history during the fall of Saigon. After his time in the military, he transitioned to the food industry, where he held roles in maintenance, project engineering, and corporate engineering. As a District Engineer for the Carnation Company, he managed capital projects for seven dairy plants across four states. Later, as Corporate Director of Engineering for the Sara Lee Corporation, he oversaw all aspects of engineering for four meat processing facilities.

 

Izzy also served as Vice President of Engineering & Manufacturing for Alex Foods, overseeing five food processing facilities across the United States, producing a diverse range of products and employing various process and utility systems. Following his tenure at Alex Foods, Izzy founded Academy Engineering, a successful consulting firm that provided engineering, construction, maintenance, and other services to a wide range of clients for 22 years.

 

Over the course of his career, Izzy has been involved in various industries, including seafood, dairy, meat, Mexican and Italian foods, bakeries, candy, snack foods, beverages, and more. His experience extends to working with educational institutions, hospitals, hotels, governments, pharmaceutical companies, and cosmetic manufacturers. He has extensive experience with federal, state, and local regulatory and certifying agencies, including USDA, FDA, OSHA, EPA, and more.

 

Izzy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He has held various certifications and licenses, including Certified Plant Engineer, Certified Mold Remediation Contractor, and EPA Refrigeration Technician (Universal). Currently, he is a licensed General Engineering Contractor, General Building Contractor, HVAC Contractor, Hazardous Materials Remediation Contractor, and Asbestos Remediation Contractor.
